Having been awarded a full academic scholarship to the University of Melbourne, Natalie Parkes graduated in 2001 with a Diploma in Oral Health Therapy (dental therapy).
She then spent two years working for the School Dental Service in a northern suburb of Melbourne, treating many children with general dental needs before committing to a full-time career in orthodontics.
Natalie now has over 15 years’ experience as an orthodontic therapist and has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating children as well as adults.
Over the years Natalie has worked with a variety of specialist orthodontists throughout Melbourne and has become highly accomplished in different systems – including Invisalign, lingual braces, functional appliances and direct and indirect bonding of braces.
Natalie has also furthered her education, gaining a Diploma in Dental Technology and an Advanced Diploma in Dental Prosthetics. Her knowledge and skill set have been extended by many years of part-time work in a laboratory setting with experience in crowns, veneer implants, cosmetic options and removable prosthetic appliances such as dentures – an asset when it comes to educating her patients in both her roles.
Natalie takes every opportunity to attend orthodontic and dental congresses in Australia and overseas in order to stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the industry.
